In 1990, I graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Computer Science. After
college, I went to work for American Airlines where I was an IBM 370 Assembly Language programmer. From there, I did some Windows and Macintosh C programming. On the side, I deployed the first SMTP gateway for American Airlines.
In 1993, AA spun off my division as Sabre. I eventually became the Internet Postmaster for both AA and Sabre (and all their subsidiary mail domains). I deployed a Netscape LDAP, Mail and Calendar solution for Sabre. It was during this time that I started teaching myself Java. My first Java program was a Servlet application that served up information from the aforementioned LDAP as a web based Employee directory.
Around 2000, Sabre sold off my division to EDS (or HP Enterprise as it was later known). By this time, I was serving as postmaster for AA, US Airways and Sabre. I also supported e-mail for the former Sabre employees until they were transitioned to the EDS mail system.
In 2008, I left EDS for Verizon Wireless a few months before EDS was acquired by HP. I worked as a contractor where I supported and re-wrote the Generator Run reporting application. In 2012, I became a fulltime employee supporting and enhancing the Ericsson Granite application.
At the end of 2017, I left Verizon Wireless as part of a Reduction In Force. In 2018, I joined DataField as Front End Developer. I am also contributing my experience with the PERL language which I began using back in 1993 for all my back end jobs.
